Where your project is our priority and building protection is our profession.
Since 2004 Professional Fire & Security, LLC is headquartered in Huntsville and has served North Alabama businesses and contractors, great and small, with auxiliary safety and security systems that protect commercial buildings and the people that occupy them through certified installations of fire alarm, security, CCTV, and access control systems. Our relationship transfers from contractor to owner with service support in annual certified inspections, fire suppression inspections, system repairs and tech support, and 24/7 emergency monitoring services. We are dedicated to helping facility managers stay code compliant and certified long after the contractors leave.
Our work is certified by over 35 plus years of fire and building safety code expertise and hands-on industry experience with NICET level 3 and 4 system consultants. Our technicians are certified by the AESBL and for fire alarm installation and repair by the state of Alabama. We pride ourselves in our compliance with state certification requirements.
We are an Alabama Certified Licensed Subcontractor serving small privately owned salons to large commercial customers like shopping centers, manufacturing plants, apartment complexes, hotels and commercial office buildings, such as The Bridge Street Town Centre, Remington Arms Plant, the FBI building, Missile Defense, and Aurora Luxury Apartments to name a few.
Our staff works closely with contractors to manage time and budget restraints and to prepare for constant shifting schedules throughout the many phases of their projects. Our customers depend on us for guidance through a minefield of safety building codes to insure a smooth final inspection for their CO.
The idea for Professional Fire & Security came from a former company much like it. While the founder, Steve Barnard, was working as a head technician for an auxiliary building systems firm for eight years, he got some unexpected news one day that the owner had made plans to retire early and sell the business. With a wife nine months pregnant and no job prospects, he was faced with a challenge or an opportunity. He decided to make it an opportunity. Using a spare room and his garage as a launching point, he became a fire alarm equipment distributor and landed a few small installation jobs.
Soon, Steve was troubleshooting and repairing systems for several customers. He began installing phone systems for office suites, intercom systems for schools and nurse call systems for nursing homes.
Our Name
Beginning with "Professional Fire & Sound" to reflect the audio systems offered at the time. We later dropped the “sound” from the name and officially changed it to Professional Fire & Security, LLC.
Now, in its third and larger office, with a fleet of vans and 11 employees, PFS focuses its priority on building safety and security installation, maintenance and inspections.
